The Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Press and Publication announced on September 3 that the 6th China International Cartoon Festival will be staged as planned in Guangzhou from September 28 through October 5. The Guangzhou and Hong Kong Games Show, one of the major events at the festival, will be held from October 1 through October 5 in Guangzhou and upgraded to a regular event of the festival.

The China International Cartoon Festival is jointly sponsored by the General Administration of Press and Publication and Guangdong Provincial People's Government and organized by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government and Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Press and Publication. The festival will be staged by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Press and Publication.

The festival is one of the top three animation fairs identified for full government backing in the National Animation Industry Development Program for the 12th Five-Year Plan Period.
